Buck Rogers

D20 Conversion

Welcome to the home of the only (as of the time this was written) XXVC conversion to D20 that has been through playtesting and is nearly complete. Currently, the game is playable, but minor tweaking and corrections remain to be done.

Get the setting here: D20_2456.pdf (2021-02-07)

This new setting is referred to as "2456" to avoid any potential conflict. This also makes it more appealing to those looking for a generic, space-opera setting. The name "2456" comes from the year in which Buck Rogers' body is discovered in XXVC.

D20 is a gaming system. It replaces many of the rules used in the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd edition (on which XXVC was originally based) with much easier and consistent rules. Since D20 is the successor to AD&D 2nd edition, it made sense to update the XXVC rules.

Legally, you must own the appropriate original XXVC materials to use this conversion. Practically, you don't need them, but it's nice to have the pictures to show players.

You must have the D20 SRD version 3.0 or 3.5 (or an appropriate substitute) to use this system. You can get this from the D20 SRD web site. "Appropriate substitutes" include the Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook 3rd Edition or Edition 3.5 by Wizards of the Coast.

Again, this conversion is still under construction. Any suggestions that you can make will be greatly appreciated.

Changes

08/26/2004 - Fixed the piloting bonus for Rocket Pilots. Fixed a number of spelling errors.

08/27/2004 - Fixed the Class Skills bonus for Rogues. Fixed a few references to Spot and Listen skills. These were replaced by the Notice skill, so all references to them are now to Notice. Alertness was also changed to include a bonus to Battle Tactics.
