The old OOC thread is almost full, so I created this one.

BTW, we're ready for the occupants of the Roykan to act. Please post your intentions, even if you've already done so.

The D20 conversion has some updates. It took me a while to bring it back up to date (since I had to restore from a backup). I added some nice things for the Rogue, too.

My next planned addition is to add some ramming rules and better weapon descriptions.

Excellent. You might want to add something nice for all of the classes at each level as opposed to every other level. At least early on. Just something to keep the person wanting to stay the same class. I mean, being a pilot, I don't get any bonuses at 2nd level, do I? Let me check..

Only a +1 bonus charisma. Not bad, but for level 3, there's nothing keeping me from taking a rogue level or a techie level. IMHO, these early levels are important for development. I think the first few, you hand out decent feats or specialties. Just looking at the SW book, most classes give you something to look forward to every level.

For instance, for Rocket pilot, initially, +2 for all pilot checks, but then say, every odd level, you get another +1 for pilot skill bonus, or some sort of bonus piloting feat, or something only a pilot can do. Or something else. It might be too powerful, but these are suggestions, yanno? Am I off base? What do you think, Pete?
Special Abilities: Gets +2 for all career skills
Gets Sneak Attack +1d6 at 1st level. At every odd numered
level thereafter, the bonus for a Sneak
Attack goes up by 1d6.
Gets Uncanny Dodge at 4th level.
Gets Improved Uncanny Dodge at 4th level.

Gets a special ability at 10th level and every three
levels thereafter
This ability may be chosen from Cripling Strike, Defensive Roll, Improved Evasion, Opportunist, or Skill Mastery.
These are gamblers and information traders who play both sides against the
middle.
First off, you've got them getting uncanny dodge and improved uncanny dodge on the same level. I imagine you meant to offer one at 4th and one at 8th.
The one thing I bolded is your description of a rogue. You should either change that description, or add some abilities based on that.
No Evasion, but an Improved Evasion?
Some suggestions for an info-based rogue:
+++ "Bardic Knowledge" ability (already mentioned)
+++ Bonuses to gambling checks at every third or fourth level.
+++ Let them select Sneak Attack tree or an Evasion-Uncanny Dodge-Improved Uncanny Dodge-Defensive Roll-Improved Evasion tree, but not both. This cuts down on their combat savvy, but gives you reason to give them other, more pertinent bonuses.
+++ Every third level or so, allow them to add a new "Knowledge" skill to their list.
----
just a few suggestions.
I'll look at Rocket Jock in a bit.

Special Abilities: For every even-numbered level a +1 adjustment
to charisma involving the opposite sex and same race.
Gets +2 bonus to all skills involving piloting or driving Rocket Pilots are the coolests beings in space.
They can outmaneuver and outromance anyone out there, often at the same time.
Well, there isn't much incentive to being a rocket jock passed 1st level either.
Right away, I'd alter that Charisma bonus to include anyone who might find the rocket jock awe-inspiring, sexually appealing or otherwise look up to them. This would include members of the opposite sex, children and teenagers and any NPC classes. The rule of thumb could be that if their total NPC character levels are less than your rocket jock level, then this affects them. Other stipulations: You must be able to communicate with them, be within 30 feet and not in combat.
----
Aside from that, I think the rocket jock still needs help.
Perhaps you could allow him to select from bonus feats every other level.
Some suggested bonus feats:
+++ Hairpin turn: Your vehicle doesn't lose velocity as it turns. You can make a 180-degree turn and move your vehicle at its full movement rate.
+++ Pack Rat: You can fit 10% more cargo in your cargo bay than listed on your vehicle's statistics sheet.
+++ Fuel Conserver: You've learned of ways to ration fuel aboard your vehicle without effecting its operation. By making a piloting check (DC ??) at the beginning of each journey, you can save an extra 10% of fuel.
+++ Sideswipe Ram: By making a successful piloting roll, your ramming maneuver lets you continue your vehicle's move.
+++ Master Navigator: By making a successful navigation roll, you can shave time off the duration of your journey.
+++ Fancy Maneuvering: Once per round if you make a successful piloting check (DC 20), you can ignore one hit on your vehicle. (Essentially a re-write of the Mounted Combat feat).
+++ Skill focus: Jury Rig
+++ Skill focus: Repair Rocket
---------
I think those, plus a few more to choose from, would be a big boost to the Rocket Jock.

Sorry. I've had a busy week in Real Life. Luckily, the game seems ot be out of my hands for the time being. I'm watching, but I'm not going out of my way to interject anything (aside from this pointless post).

Oh, and I had the Rules thread stored on my computer at home, but I lost it in the big "Hard Drive Wipe of 2005." BTW, I ordered my DVD burner yesteday. It will be here soon...

My feeling is that you are hogging the board only if you start making big decisions rapidly. If you want to post three times a day to roleplay, I can handle that on most weekdays. If you're the only one posting in a week's time, then I'd rather you post just to keep the momentum going!

From now on, I will go into the boards. Also, I've proposed to the board of directors a better method of checking game activity.

However, I'm still at fault for the recent lapse. I'll get things moving now!

Anyway, I'm still having plenty of fun. I'm glad the pace hasn't been too fast.
This is the longest online game I've ever played. Most I've played die out in about 2 months, including ones I've been GM.
Also, I'll be away Friday through Sunday. Access to the Web will be limited at best.
